Our second Spirit Week has come and gone, ladies and gentlemen. And what a great time it was. This event, designed as a way to allow students to show their creativity and school spirit, and also as an excuse to have a little fun, was a big success last year and the second time was even better!
There were themed events, one for every day of the week, and this was combined with prizes, games, and a Halloween celebration to create a festive, positive atmosphere in our hallways. Each day had a different theme, from Tropical Tuesday to Twins Day (where students could dress up as their twin, or triplet, or quadruplet, or even more!) to the actual costume day. It was a wonderful week and really showed the uniqueness and positive energy of our international division.
As an end to the event, we had our first quarter PRIDE awards ceremony. This was done over the radio, to add a bit of wackiness to the ceremony, and each class selected two students who really exemplify the sort of positive, respectful students that SCLS takes great care to nurture.
From the costumes, to the games, to the daily prizes, to the smiles on the student's faces, to the laughs shared between teachers and students, Spirit Week was a huge success. Thank you to all the teachers and students who helped make the week possible. I can't wait until next year!
